EVERYONE LOVED the music! I have friends from MA who hope to book you at their party. I will get requests fro you and will hope to pass on contracts that bring you guys more gigis. It may make sense to book you guys for one of our “Down by the River” summer concerts. The Pentacle Council on the Arts takes pleasure in inviting you to join us in a celebration of Swing Dance. Swing Daqnce Bash at the Woodstock Country Club, Saturday May 22, 2006 from 8 to 11 pm with Gerry Grimo and the East Bay Jazz Ensemble. Enjoy this 13 piece orchestra and swing to the sounds of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, Tommy Dorsey and Glan Miller.
Founded in 1974, Pentacle Council on the Arts was established to strengthen arts education in the schools and enahnce the quality of life through the presentation of arts programming in the Upper Valley. Pentacle’s Art’s Education programs serve more than 5,000 students and teachers. In addition each season offers live music, theater, dance and literary events which are enjoyed by an audience of over 10,000 people annualy, as well as an additional 12,000 who enjoy first run films shown week ly at the Town Hall Theater.
As the Arts in this ocuntry come to reply increasingly on the financial assistance of individuals like you, who understand thie rimportance, your generous support will help keep Pentacle’s cultural contributions alive.
Don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes as Gerry and the EBJE will take you on a sentimental journey through the Swing Era with authentic renditions of classics by Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, Tommy Dorsey, Geln Miller and Harry James. In addition ballroom dancers can enjoy a mix of waltzes, tangoes, latins, cha cha, and western swing with a little rock and R&B mixed in just for fun. This high energy big band ( 13 pieces) will rekindle those romantic dance hall memories of yesterday and leave a smile in your heart.
